What is The Landscape Cooperative (TLC)?
TLC is a member-owned cooperative of landscape professionals dedicated to sustainable, community-focused landscaping. We provide high-quality services while supporting the growth and success of our worker-owners and partners. -
What services does TLC offer?
We offer a full range of landscaping services, including design, installation, maintenance, ecological restoration, native planting, and more—always with a focus on sustainability and local ecosystems. -
How is TLC different from a traditional landscaping company?
TLC is a cooperative, which means it’s owned and operated by the people who work in it. Profits are shared, decisions are made collectively, and our mission is rooted in community and ecological care—not just the bottom line. -
Can anyone join TLC?
We welcome skilled landscape professionals who share our values of sustainability, cooperation, and equity. We also offer training pathways for those looking to grow into the profession. -
How do I become a member of TLC?
Prospective members typically begin by working with us as contractors or employees. Over time, they may be invited to become worker-owners, gaining a voice in governance and a share in profits. -
Do I have to be a landscaper to support or get involved with TLC?
Not necessarily! We welcome partnerships with community members, landowners, designers, and organizations who align with our mission. You can also support us by hiring our services or spreading the word. -
Is TLC available for residential or commercial projects?
Both! We work with homeowners, businesses, nonprofits, and municipalities on projects of all sizes—from backyard gardens to large-scale ecological landscapes. -
Where does TLC operate?
We currently serve Central Texas, with a focus on local, place-based solutions. As a cooperative, we’re rooted in the communities we serve. -
How do I request a quote or consultation?
You can fill out our contact form on the website, email us directly, or call us to schedule a free initial consultation. We’ll work with you to understand your needs and create a plan that fits your vision and values. -
Why choose a cooperative for your landscaping needs?
Working with a cooperative means supporting fair wages, democratic workplaces, and ecologically responsible practices. With TLC, your landscape helps grow a stronger community.
Refunds & Credits
At The Landscape Cooperative (TLC), we value transparency, quality service, and mutual respect in all client relationships. This policy outlines our terms for refunds and credits in order to maintain fairness, protect the time and resources of our team, and clearly define responsibilities.
1. Work Commencement Policy
Once any portion of the work has commenced—this includes labor, site preparation, material procurement, or design development—all payments become non-refundable.
If a client chooses to pause or discontinue work after it has begun, TLC will not issue refunds for services rendered or materials ordered. However, a service credit may be considered for any unused portion of the project, at TLC’s sole discretion, and applied toward future work.
2. Abandonment & Inactivity Clause
If a client fails to maintain communication or halts a project for an extended period:
-
Projects inactive for 90 consecutive days without written communication or clear intent to resume will be considered abandoned.
-
TLC will attempt to contact the client during this period. If no response is received, the project will be closed.
-
In such cases, no refunds or credits will be issued, and TLC reserves the right to invoice for additional storage, maintenance, or administrative costs incurred during the delay.
3. Cancellations Before Work Begins
-
48 Hours or More in Advance: A full refund will be issued for cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled start of work.
-
Less Than 48 Hours: A cancellation fee of 25% may apply, with the remainder issued as credit only.
-
Day-Of Cancellations or No-Shows: No refunds will be issued. TLC may apply a partial credit based on the circumstances.
4. Design & Consultation Services
-
Refunds are only available prior to the start of work. Once preliminary work has begun (including site assessments, planning, or concept development), no refunds will be issued.
-
If the client cancels during the process, TLC may offer a pro-rated credit for any unutilized design hours, at its sole discretion.
5. Product Returns (if applicable)
Products purchased or provided by TLC:
-
Are non-refundable once delivered or installed.
-
May be eligible for credit if returned unused and in original condition within 14 days, subject to a 15% restocking fee.
-
Special-order or custom items are non-returnable and non-refundable.
6. Credit Usage & Limitations
-
Credits must be used within 12 months from the date of issue.
-
Credits are non-transferable, have no cash value, and cannot be exchanged for refunds.
